Tap the + button on the map screen while you're standing at the pot's location. The app will drop a pin exactly at your current GPS position — it can't be dragged, so make sure you're at the right spot before tapping.
Tap the orange flag icon on the map screen. A pin will appear at your current location — you can drag it to fine-tune the exact spot, or enter the latitude and longitude directly to place it precisely.
Tap any pot on the map to open its detail card, then tap Pot no longer here. Your report is visible to the community immediately. If the pot is later found, anyone can confirm it's back in position.
The free tier shows pots in harbour range — your immediate area. Pro extends this to coastal range, enough for a full day's passage, and removes ads. Max reaches offshore range — ideal for planning longer trips before you leave the dock. Both paid tiers auto-renew monthly or annually; you can cancel any time in your device's subscription settings.
Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google, not Go Pottie directly. On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Go Pottie → Cancel. On Android: Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Go Pottie → Cancel. You keep access until the end of the current billing period.
Location is used to centre the map on where you are, drop pins accurately when you add a pot, and send you a notification when you're near a pot that has been reported. Background location is only used for the geofence alert feature; you can disable it at any time in your device settings.
Your pots and catch logs are stored in the cloud and tied to your account, so they persist across devices and reinstalls. If data appears missing, sign in with the same account you used previously and it should restore automatically. If the problem persists, email us.
You can request account deletion from within the app (Profile → Delete Account) or by emailing support@gopottie.app. All your personal data and pot records are permanently deleted within 30 days.
